Blood Sugar Lowering Salad

This salad contains only the ingredients that contribute to lowering blood sugar, making it a perfect dish to start a meal. The onion contains allyl propyl disulphide, which lowers blood sugar by stimulating metabolism. It is believed that eating 1/4 onion a day is effective for this purpose. The fat in avocado lowers blood sugar by slowing down digestion. The soluble fiber in grapefruit lowers blood sugar by slowing down the absorption of sugar, and lycopene in grapefruit has strong anti-oxidant power that lowers blood sugar. Lastly, blueberries lower blood sugar by improving insulin sensitivity. In addition, I used apple cider vinegar in the dressing, which lowers blood sugar by slowing down the absorption of sugar. If you don’t have the time to make this salad, you can just ingest 1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar before meal to avoid a blood sugar surge. This salad is very refreshing and goes well with many meals. Please do not immerse onion slices in water because its blood sugar lowering effect will be lost.

1 avocado, diced
1/2 lime, juiced
1/2 grapefruit
1/4 cup blueberries
1/8 onion (large), sliced and chopped
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste

  1. In a bowl, place diced avocado and lime juice and mix well in order to avoid oxidation.
  2. Remove the skin of grapefruit using a knife and section the meat. Catch the dripping juice in a bowl while doing this. Use the juice and a half of grapefruit sections for something else.
  3. Cut the grapefruit sections in half and add them to the avocado along with blueberries and onion.
  4. In a small bowl, mix apple cider vinegar, olive oil and salt and pepper to make dressing.
  5. Add this dressing to the salad and mix.
  6. Infuse love and serve!
